La potenza deflagrante del death svedese (i "soliti noti": In Flames, Dark Tranquillity, Children of Bodom, Soilwork...) unita a quel mood malinconico che solo le band della terra dei mille laghi (Sentenced e Amorphis in primis) posseggono... ecco quello che troverete in "Inhumanity", esordio col botto dei M.P.E: dopo questo disco la band finnica deciderà di privilegiare maggiormente il versante elettronico della propria musica, e, complici alcuni cambi di line-up, inizierà una sorta di parabola discendente culminata nello scialbo "Liberation = Termination" del 2007, ma ciò non toglie che questo debut album sia un capolavoro nel suo genere, ben rappresentato da canzoni simbolo come "Eternity's Child" o la title track, senza dimenticare la malinconia della traccia di chiusura "Into Illusion", in cui all'eccelente growling del vocalist Ville Viljanen si affianca la voce più sofferta del chitarrista e mastermind Jori Haukio.
Per gli amanti del melodic death un disco da avere assolutamente: l'ideale connubio tra il più classico Gothenburg sound e il versante più moderno dello swedish death, avvolto da una patina di fascino 100% Made in Finland!
