Prologo: nel 1974 Ritchie Blackmore decide di abbandonare i mitici Deep Purple per dare sfogo alla sue vena power rinascimentale.. Ingaggia Ronnie James Dio e il batterista Cozy Powell, i 3 capisaldi della formazione dei Rainbow autori di 2 albums splendidi (Rising, Long live rock'n'roll)..
Ma veniamo a Rising.. L'album si apre con Tarot Woman una grande canzone dominata dagli assoli di Blackmore e dagli acuti di Dio. Il motivo è orecchiabile voto 7+. Le successive tre canzoni Run with the wolf (voto 6,5), Starstruck (voto 7), Do you clone your eyes (voto 6) costituiscono un blocco hard rock molto vivace, che rilassa, molto intriganti sono gli acuti di Dio.. Nel complesso si tratta di buoni pezzi, caratteristici dei rainbow, che fanno pensare ad atmosfere fantastiche, visioni idilliache.. I Rainbow sono chiaramente i precursori del power e dell'epic metal basti pensare ai successivi lavori di Dio. . In generale non mi sento di spendere molte parole per queste canzoni che ripeto sono molto orecchiabili ma nulla più. .
Quindi arriviamo ai pezzi forti.. Il primo Stargazer è un capolavoro assoluto.. Si parte con un assolo di chitarra del portentoso Cozy Powell quindi batteria, chitarra (di Blackmore) e la voce (di Dio) raggiungono l'apice, il sublime incrocio di queste sonorità entra dentro le arterie ed esplode nel cuore che batte a ritmo di musica quindi diventa tachicardico.. Giuro che quando ascolto questa canzone fatico a restare fermo (il sangue ribolle).. La canzone è un esplosione di sentimenti un mix di frenesia, energia, magia.. Questa canzone è un vulcano in eruzione... voto 9. L'ultima canzone A light in the black molto diversa dalla precedente costituisce una strada diversa per il raggiungimento della sublimità !!! E' superflua ogni altra parola.. Autentico Capolavoro voto 9
Epilogo: dopo l'ascolto di questo album, che ritengo imprenscindibile, ero quasi triste al pensiero che i rainbow non hanno più raggiunto questi livelli di sublimità, e che essendo nato nel 1983 non ho potuto vivere subitaneamente l'emozione dell'ascolto di questo album magari in lp...
Cavolo perchè non sono nato negli anni settanta!!!!!!!
