E' doverosa una precisazione: da fan di questa band il mio giudizio è sicuramente influenzato dall'ascolto dei precedenti lavori mentre moltissimi lettori probabilmente non conoscono gli artisti in questione o si sono avvicinati a loro grazie alla heavy rotation estiva di Virgin Radio. Gi Slut, tedeschi, al sesto album snocciolano una serie di canzoni con un evidente appeal che tende alla scena britannica, distaccandosi per molti versi dagli album precedenti, decisamente più pop. Eppure le tracce variano fra di loro sia nel mood che nello stile di scrittura, per cui all'ascolto colpisce molto il ritrovarsi da ambientazioni prettamente beatlesiane (StillNo1) ad episodi molto più contemporanei come possono essere canzoni malinconiche alla Editors (If I Had a Heart), o addirittura lunghi tappeti sonori alla Sigur Ros, come in Sum It Up, brano che apre l'album. Eclettici, fanno di ciò la loro arma migliore, di sicuro sono una band che non puoi prevedere dove vadano a parare, per cui premendo il tasti skip potresti trovarti catapultato in altri meandri del rock. Rispetto a moltissimi altri lavori delle tante altre band nate dal 2002 in poi che battono quella che ormai è diventata la landa arida dell'indie rock questo può essere considerato un lavoro completo e vario che rinuncia a voler battere lo stesso clichè per le 11 canzoni di cui è composto. Notevole, per me una band da scoprire non solo per i motivi sopra citati ma anche per il fatto di costituire le panorama musicale europeo una mosca bianca, già solo per il fatto di non essere nati in Inghilterra.
