1974: Dopo il successo di "Innervision" Stevie sforna questo album, che non raggiunge il livello del precedente, pur risultando musicalmente molto interessente. "Fulfillingness' First Finale" è il complicato titolo di un disco contenente 10 pezzi di abbastanza facile ascolto. La seconda traccia "Heaven Is 10 Zillion Light Years Away" è uno dei punti più alti del lavoro, un soul dal ritornello davvero trascinante, con un coro quasi da canzone gospel. Bella anche l'introspettiva ballata, timida e sussurrata "Too Shy to Say".
Una delle canzoni più interessanti è "They Won't Go When I Go" che crea un'atmosfera veramente splendida. Carine anche: "Boogie On Reaggae Woman" in cui l'artista da bass player mette i brividi, "Creepin'" e la canzone di protesta politica "You Haven't Done Nothin'". Il resto è un po' sotto tono rispetto agli standard di Stevie. D' altra parte questo è l'album di preparazione al capolavoro assoluto della musica soul, che sarà il suo album seguente: "Songs In the Key of Life".
