MUSICA DA OSCAR
"Ho vinto l'Oscar per la musica di un film che non ho neppure visto..." (ahahaha)
1984: Le sale si riempiono per una commedia abbastanza scialba, che rappresenta a pieno il vuoto e la stupidità di una parte del cinema anni '80: "La Signora in Rosso".
Tre cose salvano (ma solo parzialmente) questo film: la simpatia di Gene Wilder, il fascino mozzafiato di Kelly Le Brock e in ultimo la celeberrima colonna sonora di Stevie Wonder. Poche canzoni (solo otto), un paio cantate anche con Dionne Warwick. Poche le tracce rimaste in questo album, del buon sound soul di Stevie degli anni addietro. Sterzata verso il pop commerciale. Le vendite non gli mancano di certo, e le radio danno quasi solo la sua canzone. La canzone trainante è ovviamente il singolo "I Just Called To Say I Love You", chi non la conosce?!
Ha il merito di una estrema orecchiabilità e di un ritornello (da messaggio d'amore in segreteria telefonica) che sbuca, dolce e armonioso, fra i suoni della tastiera e dei sintetizzatori di Stevie, basta ascoltarla una volta per non scordarlo più! Qui la troviamo in una versione di sei minuti, diversa da quella inserita nei vari Greatest Hits, più lunga, con un pezzo di ritornello nel finale cantato da una voce robotica. Ancora da ricordare: "The Woman In Red", "It's You" e "Love Light In Flight".
Il resto ? Niente di che, si può davvero dimenticare!
Stevie riceve cosi la statuetta, con aria sognante, testa che si muove incessantemente, come a seguire una musica che ronza nella sua mente di continuo, inconfondibile sorriso a 32 denti sgranato sul faccione. C'è qualcosa di buono, si può trovare nelle canzoni carine sopracitate, rimane comunque un album abbastanza vuoto, con pochi pezzi significativi. Come colonna sonora di una commedia senza troppe pretese, è PERFETTO da 5 stelle!! Valutato come album è povero ed assolutamente insufficente!
E qui le due stelle sono appunto dovute a questa ultima considerazione...
