Ahhh...ascoltiamo questo benedetto cd di cui tanto si è parlato e che tanto ha venduto nel 2007 grazie a singoli "sfasciaclassifiche" come "About You Now" mega successo con 4 settimane consecutive in testa alla chart europea.
E' come diceva la critica uno dei più grandi album pop dell'anno? Vediamo... Bene, spolpiamo bene questo album: all'apertura come ogni album pop che si rispetti c'è il primo singolo estratto tanto per dare un'apertura trionfale.Ok, sono d'accordo. Come seconda canzone una mediocre canzoncina dance degna di gente stile Hanna Montana e sta robbaccia varia. Bocciata per tre quarti. Si passa alla terza canzone, "Denial". L'album riprende quota, bel ritmo, testo medio. ma la canzone in sè è bella. Ok. Quarta canzone... ehm... è una canzone o siamo capitati sullo stacchetto iniziale delle veline? Mi si è accesa improvvisamente la radio su un terrificante canale da sconsigliare vivamente? Oh no. E' il cd che va avanti. Oh santo cielo. L'album si sta riavvicinando allo 0 spaccato. E' una specie di trash dance mescolata vergognosamente alle peggiori sonorità pop. Il ritornello? La canzone si chiama "My Love Is Pink" ed il ritornello mantiene il "My Love Is..." e...puff! Cambia il colore! My love is orange, my love is brown, my love is white...meglio se skippiamo. Quinta track...ah! Un lento, di solito sono i punti salienti dei loro cd. Ehm...carine le voci ma la canzone è un po' spentina in sè... comunque migliore della track precedente. Bene, cioè più male che bene... però passiamo avanti. Sesta canzone "Back When". Oddio salvaci. Cosa è? La sigla di Heidi?! Ma l'hanno scritta con i piedi? Hanno chiamato Britney per scrivergliela? Aihmè sono costretto a skippare nuovamente. Sento il "crack!" dello spaccarsi dello 0 nella testa. Numero 7 "Surprise". Uh... l'inizio promette bene. Carina, ma un po' ripetitiva. Vabè, lentamente si risale la china. Numero 8 è "Back Down" una specie di "raggae elettronico" che esalta il boyfriend di ciascuna componente nel testo. Niente male, davvero. Almeno in questa canzone riusciamo a sentire pienamente la voce di ciascuna componente. Track nine... "Mended By You". Una ballata introdotta da dei violini. No. Sono computerizzati. Vabè. Decente. Niente di nuovo, ma buona, almeno il pianoforte mi pare vero. La canzone 10 invece è "Open The Door". Mà. Il tipo di canzone che sentirai una radio una volta nella vita ma non ti lascia nessuna sensazione (piacevole o non) e che da un momento all'altro si cancellerà dalla tua memoria... Numero 11 invece è "Undignified"...Non male. E che è sto testo? "When you love the devil, you sell your soul and it's hard to make him go"...ma è una cover pop di un satanista? Vendere la tua anima al diavolo? Mà! Andiamo avanti va....Eh? Già finito?! Uhm...boff.... Allora quì ci devo mettere il verdetto finale? Ok...
So... diciamo che rispetto alle perle "Angels With Dirty Faces" e "Three" è un cd un bel po' sotto la media (e non ho scordato "Taller In More Ways", perchè da lì ci siamo accorti che l'immagine aveva preso il sopravvento)... eppure ci aspettavamo qualcosa in più... sarà per la prossima volta? Speriamo. Peccato comunque.
P.s.: Vorrei solamente aggiungere una cosa... che nessuno venga a dirmi che il cd era brutto a causa della dipartita di quella Mutya, che tra fumo, alcool, allattate e scarichi da parte della casa discografica valla a recuperare quella là... ha soli 22 anni e sembra già fare concorrenza alla Carrà... sta a vedere che mò si becca una menopausa a 30 anni... lasciamola dove sta và...
