L'album peggiore dei Beatles! Lo dico senza nessun risentimento! "Yellow Submarine" è il lavoro discografico più scadente della band di Liverpool. Quando ascoltai per la prima volta quest'album per intero, ho sentito un'imponente e immensa noia e depressione dentro di me. Ogni brano che veniva inesorabilmente mi faceva stare male; ogni volta mi facevo il segno della croce. Tralasciando il fatto che tale album funge da soundtrack per l'omonimo film d'animazione,ritengo che sia un lavoro totalmente inutile. Tredici pezzi uno più desolante dell'altro.
Un lato A di 6 canzoni loffie e senza potenza, praticamente spompate. Si sente che la band non ha voglia di suonare! Accendo lo stereo e subito parte la superconosciuta "Yellow Submarine", canzone già apparsa in "Revolver", nel 1966. Una canzone già sentita e non originale dell'album è "All You Need Is Love", da "Magical Mystery Tour", altrettanto conosciuta. I rimanenti pezzi del lato A sono una continua tortura per il cervello.
Il lato B non si prospetta migliore! Tutte canzoni strumentali, lisergiche, psichedeliche, classiche, leggermente inquietanti. Gradevoli ma neanche troppo! Inutili! Esse fanno da colonne sonore nel film: questa è la loro unica importanza artistica! "Yellow Submarine" è un album mediocre, che ti fa venire il latte alle ginocchia. Chi se ne vuole fare un'idea lo ascolti, ma non aspettatevi il meglio dagli Scarafaggi di Liverpool.
