The Isley Brothers sono un gruppo R&B/soul statunitense fondato dai fratelli O’Kelly, Rudolph e Ronald Isley. Dalla stagione iniziale tra doo‑wop e gospel ai successi soul/funk (Shout!, It’s Your Thing), nel 1973 la formazione si amplia con Ernie e Marvin Isley e Chris Jasper (era 3+3), aprendo a sonorità rock-funk. Tra i brani celebri: That Lady e Between the Sheets. Inseriti nella Rock and Roll Hall of Fame nel 1992.

Recensione molto positiva di 3+3 (1973): groove funk morbido, voce calda e chitarre in evidenza su That Lady. Eccellenti cover (Summer Breeze, James Taylor, Doobie Brothers). Messa a fuoco della nuova formazione con Ernie e Marvin Isley più Chris Jasper. Richiami all’estetica sonora coeva di Stevie Wonder e all’uso del T.O.N.T.O. Produzione asciutta e moderna; citati brani successivi come Harvest for the World.
