Ho ascoltato oggi l'album Shrink dei Notwist. Fulminato! Come è possibile? Come è possible che sia stato inciso nel 98? Come è possibile che sia di sette anni fa? Come è possibile che nessuno mi abbia mai portato davanti questo (brutto esteticamente) cd e mi abbia detto "Michele, ascolta questo cd, questi Notwist sono troppo avanti, suonano qualcosa di nuovo, qualcosa che le nostre orecchie non sono state ancora abituate ad ascoltare." Nessuno, mai nessuno, nel 1998. E' successo sì, ma nel 2003 con Neon golden (ringrazio Coppola ed Mtv per questo).
Ok, certo Neon Golden è un album fuori dal normale, bello in tutte le sue componenti, in tutte le sue sfumature elettro-rock, è vero. E' un album che più lo ascolti e più ne apprezzi l'armonia, il suono, i loop, il significato. Ma da oggi non lo reputo più un album innovativo, qualcosa di mai fatto prima, di nuovo. Oggi ho ascoltato Shrink, sempre dei Notwist, sì , sempre di quei ragazzi tedeschi, che precede di cinque anni quelle sonorità che verranno riprese (e perfezionate) in Neon Golden.
Loro sono i Notwist (da aprile forse 13&GOD), loro fanno dell'ottima musica da sette lunghi anni.

La somma di tali componenti produce 10 tracce stupende venate di quella malinconia a cui siamo tanto affezionati.
Shrink però raggiunge l'apice con la canzone omonima, che ho dovuto riascoltare una trentina di volte per essere sicuro che potesse esistere una canzone così bella...
