Dopo il mediocre "Emotional Rescue" (1980) ed il buono "Tatoo You" (1981), le pietre partono per un lungo tour, le cui performance si allontanano da quelle degli anni '70. In questo live, infatti, sono presenti dei grandissimi successi dei '60 ("Under My Thumb", "Let's Spend The Night Together", "Going To A Go-Go", "Time is on My Side", "I Can't Get No Satisfaction"), eseguiti però con un suono più sporco, bastardo, in poche parole più rock-blues; ma inoltre sono presenti pezziripresi dai fine '70, sopratutto da "Some Girls", "Shattered" uno su tutti; nella tracklist non può ovviamente mancare l'ultimo grande successo "Start Me Up". La qualità dei suoni è buona ed apprezzabile, lo stato della band meno: Jagger cerca di fare troppo la prima donna, Richards ce la mette tutta e risulta uno dei meglio, Bill Wyman è sempre il solito, non combina guai, ma nemmeno fa miracoli, Watts è preciso, anche se un po' sottotono rispetto a quello di oggi, Ron Wood si sente poco e negli assoli sembra di sentire un po' di insicurezza.
Per concludere ci sono dei punti negativi: la copertina (veramente orrenda!), e la band non troppo compatta; e dei punti positivi: Keith Richards, la svolta nel cambio del suono e di repertorio, il fatto che il disco non annoi, ma tutto sommato diverta.
Questa testimonianza dal vivo raggiunge i livelli, o addirittura li supera. di "Love You Live" (1978), che tranne per la qualità delle registrazioni non poteva considerarsi una brutta prova live. Questa è una poche cose buone fatte dagli Stones negli anni '80, ed è quindi vivamente consigliato l'ascolto.
