Uno dei piu grandi gruppi rock mai partoriti dalla terra australiana insieme a "birthday party " e "radio birdman", che seguendo gli insegnamenti di quest'ultimi riescono a forgiare il miglior esordio in ambito punk e del rock tutto.
Cresciuti nella solare i puritana Brisbane, sentono che in inghilterra sta per succedere qualcosa di importante, appena arrivati a londra rimangono scioccati dalla scena locale e dal fermento delle band che stanno iniziando a spuntare come funghi, consapevoli che la nascente e ottusa mentalità punk non tollera ne capelloni ne assoli di chitarra, gli sbattono in faccia entrambi.
Il disco (uscito nel 77 poco dopo quello dei damned) è suonato con furia iconoclasta senza precedenti, surclassando in violenza sonora tutti gli esordi del periodo da quello dei DAMNED a quello dei CLASH, mentre quello dei SEX PISTOLS a confronto sembra un 45 giri suonato a 33, la forza del disco, sta proprio nel fatto che sembra suonato contro tutto e tutti, questo per essersi resi conto che saranno degli outsiders a vita, resta il fatto che canzoni come "(i'm) stranded", "demolition girl", "eurotic neurotic" non hanno perso quel fascino a distanza di 30 anni, c'è pure posto per qualche ballata come "story of love" e "messin' with the kid" fregandosene dei dogmi punk, poi c'è "nights in venice" un tour de force di quasi sei minuti dove si arriva a sfiorare il noise, mentre "wild about you" è una cover dei conterranei "missing links".
In pratica un disco immortale e misconosciuto allo stesso tempo.
