Ciao questa è la mia prima recensione su DeBaser, e vorrei recensire uno dei pochi gruppi che continuano a fare Punk, il VERO punk non quello dei finti-ribelli creati dalle casa discografiche per fregare 15 euro a 4 ragazzine 12enni.
Il gruppo in questione sono i Suicide Machines. L'album in questione, dal titolo "Steal This Record", risale al 2001 terzultimo album prima del definitivo scioglimento del gruppo. Il titolo dell'album è tratto dal titolo di un libro di Abbie Hoffman. L'album esce poco dopo la caduta delle torri gemelle, questo compromette la visibilità dell'album che a causa del nome del gruppo, difficile da accettare in un momento così critico, vede il rifiuto di alcune radio di trasmettere il lavoro in questione.
Ma ora veniamo all'album in questione. Il lavoro risulta omogeneo e quasi mai ripetitivo. L'album si apre "Killing Blow", una delle song migliori dell'album che è anche il primo singolo estratto, che poi lascia il posto alla title track. Da qui in poi si susseguono canzoni molto potenti, unico attimo di respiro è "Stand Up", canzone leggermente meno potente delle altre. La voce di Lukacinsky (vocalist della band oltre che chitarrista) è perfetta e si adatta benissimo al sound del gruppo. Inoltre si sente molto l'influenza pop rock, cosa che differenzia questo e il lavoro precedente dai primi due album, fattore che però rende ancora più gradevole "Steal This Record".
In definitiva un ottimo album che merita sicuramente attenzione.
