Ripensandoci, Cosa c'era in Possessed che non andasse?
E' perfettamente in linea con i canoni Venomiani,pieno di pezzi veloci, zozzi e tirati ed altri più lenti e macabri. Allora perchè venne e viene ancora fortemente criticato da ogni essere vivente su questo pianeta?
Diciamo che uscì al momento sbagliato; Nel 1985 si stava affermando a livello mondiale il Thrash, e l'entusiasmo generale nei confronti di questo nuovo estremismo musicale finì per far cadere nel dimenticatoio i tre satanassi britannici, nonostante Possessed fosse una prova più che convincente.
Kerrang! scriveva "... I pezzi sono corti, e manca totalmente una reale ispirazione e coesione all'interno del disco...": Tutto questo per 4 filler (Flytrap,Mystique,Voyeur,Suffer not the children) nemmeno così terribili a dirla tutta.
Si perchè se gli altri pezzi non sono capolavori poco ci manca; Non avrebbero assolutamente sfigurato su Black Metal o Welcome to hell,anzi.
L'insospettabile Mantas si rivela un ottimo chitarrista con numerosi e pregevoli assoli che aggiungono ulteriore dinamismo alla classica furia cieca dei Venom , Cronos ruggisce le solite stronzate a proposito dell'inferno e del suo compagno di merende Satana, mentre Abaddon, fresco di scoperta della doppia cassa, ne fa sfoggio raddoppiando l'usuale velocità.
Cosa aspettate? Fatelo vostro insieme ai 3 dischi precedenti: Possessed è Venom al 100%.

I Venom sono venuti dall'immondizia, sono diventati celebri mescolando stronzate teppiste con formule estrapolate dal manuale del piccolo satanista.
Questo lavoro è stato uno dei più plagiati dei Venom, credo che molte band abbiano trovato ottimi riff da rubare vista la validità delle tracce e la scarsa diffusione dell'album.
