La recensione che sto per fare per me non sará facile perché devo farne una dei Black Sabbath, un gruppo che ritengo il vero fondatore dell'heavy metal insieme ai Judas Priest, dato che ascolto anche doom metal e ascolto gruppi come Cathedral, Candlemass, Pentagram e doom death come i primi Katatonia e primi Paradise Lost, per me si tratta di un gruppo importantissimo che ha influito tantissimo sulla storia della musica e credo siaimpossibile elencare i gruppi che sono stati influenzati dai Sabbath.
Il cd che sto per recensire é un bootleg del concerto svoltosi a Parigi durante il tour della fine del 1970 dopo l'uscita di "Black Sabbath" e di "Paranoid". Il bootleg pur avendo una produzione di basso livello ci porta direttamente nel clima dei concerti di quei fantastici anni e con i Sabbath giovanissimi e a parer mio in uno dei momenti migliori della loro carriera che all'epoca era appena incomiciata.
Il cd si apre con il ''tormentone'' dei Sabbath e la loro canzone piú famosa in assoluto, Paranoid che il gruppo ci propone in versione leggermente velocizzata, dopo qualche breve improvvisazione col basso di Butler si passa alla prossima canzone si passa a Hand of Doom, lenta e distruttiva come il genere che forse ha forse preso nome da questa fantastica canzone. Poi finita questa canzone, Ward batte sul rullante, Ozzy urla al pubblico e incominciano i riff di Iron Man che ci porta direttamente allo scontro tra un robot e l'uomo in atmosfera apocalittica.... Alcuni arpeggi ci portano direttamente nella cupa atmosfera di Black Sabbath qui il sound del gruppo si avvicina quasi a un blues marcissimo e malefico. Col pubblico in delirio si arriva a N.I.B. che dopo il blues marcio di prima ci porta all'heavy meta, peccato che é solo in intermezzo prima di ritonare al blues marcissimo mescolato all'hard'n'heavy di Behind the Wall of Sleep. Dopo si passa a una perla dei Black Sabbath, War Pigs che dopo l'inizio in sordina la batteria di Ward ci porta direttamente a una canzone di protesta contro la guerra in Vietnam accompagnati dai riff di Iommi e la batteria di Ward che la suona come un dannato. Purtroppo il cd arriva alla conclusione con Fairies Wear Botts dove si raccontano le botte prese dagli skinhead da Ozzy e soci con un mid-tempo e si concerto si conclude.
Prima di chiudere la mia recensione vorrei ringraziare chi in tutte le mie recensioni mi ha criticato e ha aperto discussioni con me e vorrei che in questo sito se ne aprissero di piú a credo sia impossibile e ringrazio anche gli editors che hanno sempre pubblicato le mie recensioni, nonostante certe erano veramente scritte da cani....
