Che disco gente!
Ma non è la solita americanata del tipo (Oh! Yeah!) perchè questo album è di una raffinatezza non comune tantè che lo stile, è stato considerato da qualcuno "Class Metal".
Si da inizio alle danze con "Unchain The Night" di cui il fantastico titolo basterebbe da solo per promuovere il brano: SCIOGLI DALLE CATENE LA NOTTE! che regala un'atmosfera inquietante e da brivido segnata da potenti quanto melodici riff, su cui Don Dokken mette al lavoro la sua ugola. La seconda è "The Hunter" che si muove sempre sulla stessa scia della prima e che non può di certo non conquistare l'orecchio dell'ascoltatore. "In My Dreams" è un brano surreale che mi fa per un attimo credere di essere "Nei Miei Sogni". Siamo arrivati alla ballad del disco: "Slippin'Away" che è una delle migliori canzoni che abbia mai ascoltato! I Dokken si danno ai sentimenti in cui i grandiosi cori si sposano con una melodia ai limiti della perfezione e fanno alzare dal divano l'ascoltatore, per andare alla finestra e guardare l'orizzonte. Con "Lightning Strikes Again" si cambia decisamente sound in cui la voce di Don raggiunge le vette più vertiginose che solo pochi singer conoscono.
Un "pizzicato" introduce "Its No love" dove vengono messi (come se non bastasse) ancora in risalto i virtuosismi chitarristici di George Lynch. "Jaded Heart" è un bel brano elettro/acustico con venature romantiche. "Don't Lie To Me" spezza l'atmosfera riflessiva della precedente song. In fine la toccante "Will The Sun Rise" precede la conclusiva "Til The Livin' End" che esce un pò dai canoni dei Dokken per il suo sound veloce e violento (non è proprio il massimo per loro ma ci hanno provato).
Questo è quindi il disco della consacrazione per i Dokken con il quale hanno fatto epoca nonostante la grande competizione che c'era con le bands concittadine.
