AHAHAHAHAHA. AHAHAHAHAHA. Massì ahhahahaha facciamoci anche questa terza risata!
Se vi si presenta davanti agli occhi un cd di un gruppo con un nome come "Aquile del Death Metal", con una copertina celestino-rosa e con diverse pose di una mano che fa le corna & co, o pensate che sia qualche gruppo di metallari omosessuali, oppure vi chiedete cosa nasconde quell'enigmatico involucro. Posato il cd nel lettore e spinto play, sentite un ritmo rock and roll, delle chitarrone uscite da un film di Tarantino e una voce molto comica e suadente (per ironia).
A questo punto sono due le reazioni:
- Se avete pagato 20 euro (se l'avete scaricate è meglio) per il cd e non vi è piaciuto affatto perchè odiate Elvis e vi sentite presi in giro, scaraventerete il disco per terra e lo calpesterete maledicendo il vostro rivenditore che ve lo ha propinato.
- Iniziate a battere le vostre mani su qualsiasi cosa (tavolo, gambe, pentole) per tenere quell'allegro ritmo e tenterete di emulare il baffuto cantante degli EODM amandolo come un idolo, un nuovo dio del RnR.
Premettiamo che io non ho avuto nessuna delle due reazioni, per un determinato motivo: avevo preso il disco conscio del fatto che si trattava di Rock and Roll intriso di ironia, ma invece di tenere il tempo su una pentola, mi accingevo a preparare la cena.
Dunque, dopo succcessivi ascolti, mi sono accorto di avere tra le mani la pazzesca creazione di Josh Homme, (il quale ha finanziato la produzione del disco) il quale, a tempo perso, mentre registrava "Lullabies to Paralyze", si era impegnato a suonare la batteria per scatenarsi in questo suo side project insieme al suo baffuto amico, altra mente geniale (?) degli Eagles of Death Metal, nonchè chitarrista tuttaltro che virtuosista.
Parlando del disco, apparte qualche canzone che si astrae dal mucchio, le altre risultano essere piuttosto ripetitive e sulla stessa linea delle altre, però l'idea va premiata. Nei testi delle canzoni i due si sbizzarriscono costruendo situazioni tragicomiche a sfondo sessuale sfiorando la perversione.
Per i fan dei Queens of the stone age & dei Nick Olivieri and Mondo Generator, il disco è più che consigliato, anzi fondamentale, soprattutto se avete apprezzato le famose "Desert Session"; al contrario, se non siete fan dei QOTSA e lo vedete in un negozio, sullo scaffale, alla lettera "E" a meno che non costi 10 euro, non vi conviene acquistarlo, restereste delusi.
Se però vi piace un pò di sano RnR , allora scatenatevi con questi pazzoidi, non vi deluderanno.
