Listen to the rain falling day by day... depressione... desolazione... sfogo... dopo tre album in elettrico i Godsmack ci propongono una raccolta di brani acustici, composta da 5 inediti e 2 vecchie songs rivisitate in chiave strumentale (re-align e keep away). The Other Side inizia con le parole di un uomo disperato che si guarda indietro e non riesce a trovare niente che possa salvarlo... with broken wings i know i'll die...
Re-align è un altro brano introspettivo nel quale l'uomo, sempre più alienato dalla società, viene assalito da incubi e paure...

Belle le percussioni di Touche e la visionaria Voices. Keep Away è l'inno da cantare al vostro peggior nemico, mentre la mistica Spiral rappresenta il manifesto dell'incertezza umana...

Asleep è l'ultima tappa della desolazione godsmackiana. . Nonostante l'indubbia ispirazione agli Alice in Chains (ricordiamo che l'appellativo Godsmack deriva da un'omonima canzone del gruppo di Seattle) la band rappresenta, al momento, una delle poche proposte interessanti nell'ambiente hardrock, e con questo album acustico ha dimostrato a pieno la propria completezza artistica. Qualcuno, senza tutti i torti, considera The Other Side come una operazione commerciale a causa della sua esigua durata e del prezzo relativamente alto. A ragion veduta non vi dico di comprarlo, ma vi consiglio vivamente di ascoltarlo.
