Gli Husky Rescue sono un gruppo Ambient-Pop finlandese formatosi nel 2002 e questo "Country Falls" è il loro primo album, pubblicato nel 2004.
Non so voi ma io li ho scoperti con lo spot della Beck's Next del 2008 e mi sono subito innamorato di quella pubblicità in perfetta sintonia con "Rainbow Flows", uno dei loro pezzi migliori, la spensieratezza di un single con i propri amici sul terrazzo di un grattacielo a bersi tranquillamente una birretta guardando le nuvole passare e il sole tramontare lasciando dietro di se un aura dorata e struggente. Paura eh?
Ma torniamo al disco; il disco è molto buono, in alcuni momenti un po' noioso perché ripetitivo, ma ci sono almeno 7-8 tracce che meritano l'ascolto.
Le migliori sono le dolci e delicate "Sweet Little Kitten" e "Sleep Tight Tiger", "New Light of Tomorrow" reduce da una nottata insonne passata a girovagare in auto per le strade attendendo l'alba, la robotica "Gasoline Girl" e l'ottava meraviglia "Rainbow Flows".
Poi ci sono dei casi che incuriosiscono (almeno a me) tipo i 3 minuti di silenzio di "Mean Street" o il parlato accompagnato da una armonica a bocca di "The Good Man" che date le mie scarse doti linguistiche non credo di esser riuscito a capire proprio bene ma dovrebbe parlare di un "superman" quasi pentito di essere nato super invece che magari dottore (per poter rendere immortale sua madre) e la conclusiva "The Man Who Flew Away" che dura solo 1:33 ed è quasi tutta uguale.
L'atmosfera è filtrata e semi-notturna, a parte "Summertime Cowboy" che contiene addirittura degli spari laser.
La persona che canta principalmente è una donna e si chiama Reeta-Leena Korhola.
Anche se non sembrerebbe l'intero album è pervaso da un senso di malinconia e solitudine sottopelle che, proprio per questo, lo rendo più affascinante.
Se qualcuno l'ha trovato originale a Roma mi dica perfavore dove perché è difficile da trovare e gliene sarei molto grato.
