Queste le parole del brano guida ("Floating") di questo disco del 1999 prodotto da David Linch e Angelo Badalamenti, co-autore di gran parte dei brani. E con queste credenziali era difficile non venir risucchiati dalla forte personalità di un regista visionario e "maledetto" che imprime la sua lucida distorsione a tutto l'album. Un album suggestivo e "fluttuante" appunto, in un mare di sensazioni visive e uditive che permettono ai brani di levitare leggeri e soffici, avvolti da un'alone di sensualità e mistero, con una tensione emotiva pronta ad esplodere da un momento all'altro senza mai farlo completamente. Un album di spasmodica attesa, di quiete apparente o di esplosioni trattenute somatizzandole. Un album "galleggiante" in un oceano di visioni che rimandano inequivocabilmente a quel grande evento mediatico-televisivo che fu la saga di Twen Peaks. Capolavoro indiscusso del malefico duo Linch-Badalamenti a cui la giovane Cruise (che tradotto significa "Crociera" tanto per far quadrare il cerchio!) ha prestato la sua voce angelica e rarefatta, cospargendo dolcezza e grazia a un lavoro "dolcemente oscuro" che ci porta per mano e ci invita con parole sussurrate e leggere a lasciarsi fluttuare assieme a lui in mondi che a noi non son dati a sapere.
