Lee Morgan

Lee Morgan (Philadelphia, 1938 – New York, 1972) è stato un trombettista jazz statunitense, tra i massimi interpreti dell’hard bop. Cresciuto con Dizzy Gillespie e protagonista con Art Blakey’s Jazz Messengers, incise numerosi album per la Blue Note. Con The Sidewinder (1964) ottenne un raro successo crossover. Morì nel 1972, ucciso allo Slugs’ Saloon dalla sua compagna Helen Moore.
