Lynyrd Skynyrd è una band rock statunitense di Jacksonville (Florida), associata al southern rock. Il gruppo ottenne grande successo negli anni ’70 con brani come “Free Bird” e “Sweet Home Alabama”. Nel 1977 un incidente aereo causò la morte del cantante Ronnie Van Zant e di altri membri, evento centrale nel racconto critico e nella mitologia della band; negli anni successivi ci furono reunion e nuove incarnazioni della formazione.
