Prima di cominciare vorrei precisare una cosa: sono un novellino. Sono da poco entrato a far parte della colonia DeBaseriana realizzando il sogno della mia vita.
Detto ciò incomincierò la mia carriera recensistica con un album facile facile che per molti rappresenta il declinio di un grande artista come Michael Jackson. Invincible è (fino ad oggi) l'ultimo album pubblicato di MJ a distanza di 6 anni da quel mezzo capolavoro chiamato HIStory. 6 anni di attesa e fans in delirio per conoscere il nuovo disco del nostro. Ma l'immagine di Mj è stata nel frattempo ridimensionata per le accuse di molestie ai minori e per il fatto che sia diventato ancora più brutto (il confronto con i gloriosi anni 80 è improponibile).
Ma a noi questo non interessa giusto? Noi vogliamo la musica giusto?
Nel fare Invincible è come se MJ fosse indeciso se prendere la via delle sue origini (grandi ballate e canzoni ritmiche fenomenali) o quella moderna (piena di effetti elettronici) ma purtroppo il risultato è, per versi, gradevole ma non esaltante. L'album inizia con il trio delle meraviglie (iniziali): "Invincible", "Heartbreaker", "Unbreakble", le quali esaltano all'inizio ma dopo pochi minuti inducono l'ascoltatore a cambiare canzone una dopo l'altra. SE, e ripeto, SE, MJ non ci azzecca a stò giro in campo futuristico, ci rinvigorisce con le sue ballate che sono sempre di alto livello. "Break of Dawn", "Heaven Can Wait", "Speechless" dimostrano che MJ sa ancora fare ottima musica "classica", con grande interpretazione corale e un ugualmente grande interpretazione del nostro.
In "You Rock my World" si può intravedere (quasi) il vero Michael per via dell'ottimo ritmo e per l'ottima ballabilità della traccia. Parlando di ballate stile MJ non si può non parlare di "You Are my Life" che a me ricorda molto per la romanticità "The Lady in my Life" in Thriller. Però non c'è rosa senza spine, infatti, subito dopo questi capolavori si cade nel trash con "Butterflies" e "2000 Watts". La prima si ascolta malvolentieri per l'eccessiva lentezza, la seconda non si può ascoltare o, per lo meno è ascoltata dagli amanti della musica Thecno. Suprata la crisi il livello generale dell'album si innalza con la triste ma stupenda "The Lost Children", canzone scritta interamente da MJ. La traccia successiva è un brano contro la stampa (che però non è all'altezza di "Leave Me Alone" o "Scream") cantato con voce dura e molto rockeggiante ed aggressiva. Si prosegue con la latineggiante "Wharever Happends" e con "Thratened", traccia con un buon ritrnello ma nulla di più.
Si chiude così un album che verrà (forse) ricordato per le sue straordinarie ballate e per essere stato l'unico flop (vabbè, per modo di dire: 10 milioni di copie con un solo album se le sognano i cantanti italiani) della carriera di MJ.
Spero di avere superato l'iniziazione. Ehi aspettate un attimo! NO, FERMI! STATEMI LONTANI! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH !

La sensazione che si ha ascoltando questo album è quella di essere in una Ferrari testa rossa che però non riesce a partire.
Manca lui… Manca Michael Jackson!!

"Invincible" è l'ultimo tentativo di rappresentare ancora il fior fiore delle celebrità in un panorama musicale in piena evoluzione.
"You Rock My World", il singolo, è gustoso, ballabile e la traccia in cui Jackson performa con più sicurezza e certezza.

Michael colpisce nel segno portando alla nascita un lavoro che potrebbe benissimo esser passato per un disco contemporaneo del 2011.
Invincible si presenta come un'opera poco compresa ma che riserva piacevoli sorprese.
