"Bark at the Moon" è il terzo disco da solista di Ozzy Osbourne dopo la sua dipartita dai Sabbath. è inoltre il primo disco in coppia con il chitarrista Jake E.Lee (con il quale il Madman collaborerà anche per "The Ultimate Sin"). In generale è uno dei dischi più accattivanti del principe delle tenebre anche se non al livello di "Blizzard of Ozz" e "Diary of a Madman", veri capolavori dell'ex Black Sabbath.
Si parte subito a razzo con la title-track "Bark At The Moon", una canzone di spaventosa energia, composta da riff geniali e da un solo degno di nota. Veramente notevole. La seconda track è la malinconica ballad "You're No Different", a mio parere una delle tracce migliori dell'album. Subito dopo troviamo quello che di fatto è l'unico riempitivo del disco: "Now You See It" è una canzone dai sapori leggermente disco (nei ritornelli) che non colpisce affatto l'orecchio dell'ascoltatore. "Rock 'n' Roll Rebel" è un altro brano veramente spettacolare, molto ben congegnato e assolutamente all'altezza di un disco di Ozzy. un tetro intro di cori e campane ci presenta "Centre of Eternity" che è una vera scossa elettrica. Una canzone veloce, orecchiabile e di grande impatto. Ottima. Poi c'è un'altra ballad molto ben riuscita (anche se effettivamente c'entra poco con lo stile di Ozzy), "I'm So Tired". "Slow Down" è un brano dai ritornelli orecchiabili ma niente più. Discreto. L'ultima canzone è la cupa "Waiting For Darkness" che ci accompagna lentamente all'uscita del regno delle tenebre del principe....
A mio parere è l'ultimo disco valido di Ozzy (a parte il sufficiente "No More Tears" del 91) che però sa trasmettere un'energia altissima. Spettacolari "Bark At The Moon" e "Rock 'n' Roll Rebel", Ottima "Centre of Eternity" e discreto il resto. Rimane a mio parere un album abbastanza sottovalutato dalla critica che merita di essere ascoltato da ogni metallaro che sia tale.

Bark At The Moon è probabilmente la canzone più famosa, nonché la più bella dell'intero disco.
State alla larga da questa versione rimasterizzata ... è veramente un insulto a questo grande disco.
