Ozzy Osbourne, dopo la dipartita dai Black Sabbath si reinventa come musicista e sforna questo splendido e superbo "Blizzard Of Ozz" (1980) confermando di essere un artista di prima categoria che ha sempre mostrato, nel tempo, dedizione e impegno per il suo genere circondandosi di un'ottima band della quale, ovviamente, l'elemento di spicco è Randy Rhoads, grande chitarrista il cui genio è stato riconosciuto ormai da tutti. Quello che sto per descrivere è un disco fondamentale, probabilmente uno dei lavori più riusciti da Ozzy.
In partenza il disco "Blizzard of Ozz" non dimostrò soltanto la grande capacità della band, ma anche un'impulsività infallibile unendo eccellenti band di supporto tra cui l'ex chitarrista dei Quiet Riot, Randy Rhoads, che fu una scopera sbalorditiva, infatti risulta essere uno dei più celebri ed influenti chitarristi heavy metal degli anni '80 e riassuntivamente della storia del Rock
Canzoni come l'iniziale "I Don't Know", passando per la celeberrima "Crazy Train", la superba ballata "Goodbye To Romance", la strumentale "Dee", "Suicide Solution", l'eccelsa "Mr. Crowley", la travolgente "No Bone Movies", "Revelation (Mother Earth)", "Steal Away (The Night)", sono tutte superbi esempi di Hard/Heavy dalle pregevoli soluzioni sonore e armoniche e dal grande impatto melodico ed emozionale. La chitarra di Randy Rhoads è eccezionale, assoluta, geniale nelle parti solistiche (celeberrimo il suo assolo così triste e malinconico in "Mr. Crowley") come in quelle ritmiche, ed in grado di competere alla pari con i virtuosismi di Eddie Van Halen; entrambi sono due Axe-Men eccezionali che hanno dettato legge con la loro grandezza compositiva per tutti gli anni '80. Un lavoro superbo, un disco chiave nella carriera di Ozzy e non solo.
Consigliata la ristampa in CD con l'aggiunta della Bonus-Track "You Lookin' At Me Lookin' At You". Un disco da avere assolutamente, assieme al successivo, altrettanto stupendo "Diary Of A Madman" (1981) per capire e comprendere meglio tutto l'Heavy Metal degli anni '80. Un Must assoluto ed imprescindibile.

Un album dove dominano la chitarra regina indiscussa del genere, ed il genio di Ozzy, al primo passo verso la sua nuova carriera.

Questo è il primo album del mio artista preferito Ozzy Osbourne, non è il suo miglior disco ma comunque è un lavoro assolutamente da ascoltare.
Crazy Train è uno dei pezzi più belli cantati da Ozzy Osbourne.
