Il suo nome è Geraldine Edwards, se mai ve lo foste chiesto. Nuda di spalle è lei ad impreziosire con molta malizia la cover di "Pressure Drop" seconda opera solista di Palmer datata 1975. Cover molto affascinante, il retro forse lo è ancora di più ma per questo andate a rovistare un po' nei mercatini perchè trovare questo lp non è poi tanto semplice.
Secondo lavoro dunque, segue il brillante esordio dell'anno prima e continua sulla stessa linea. Backing band i Little Feat di Lowell George, qualche cover e brani originali per un disco dal buon groove con leggerissime concessioni ad una disco molto velata ("Give Me An Inch", "Wich Of Us Is The Fool") ma per il resto molto votato alle tipiche sonorità calde soul amate da Robert, "Work To Make It Work", "River Boat", la gustosa "Fine Time" e la cover del reggae "Pressure Drop". Lp molto caldo come lo è gran parte della produzione di questo artista troppo poco ricordato, le modelle androgine di "Addicted To Love" sono ancora distanti anni luce così come Mtv e l'heavy rotation degli anni '80, nei '70 Palmer è uno dei massimi esponenti del soul dagli occhi blu e i suoi dischi sono splendida testimonianza della sua anima artistica.
"Pressure Drop" rimane un ottimo prodotto per animare serate freddine così come il successivo e ancora una volta riuscitissimo "Some People Can Do What They Like" del '76, lavoro anche quello hot fin dalla foto di copertina come da buona tradizione targata Palmer.
