Beh, visto che un "grande" ha riproposto un deja-vu d'antan quale "Afric Simone"... che dire, provo anch'io a rispolverare i tormentoni di quando ero bambino.
Ramaya era sicuramente tra questi, assieme ad un altro grande hit ("Sugar Baby Love, qualcuno lo recensisce?)... ma ce n'era un altro, grandissimo direi: i mitici, i sottovalutati Rockets! Chi non si ricorda quella genialata di "On The Road Again"? Si, dico genialata, perchè trasformare un vecchio brano che più blues non si poteva in un ottima cover, suonata da synth e cantata col vocoder...beh, ci voleva un gran coraggio.
Questi signorotti francesi hanno sicuramente dato una loro piccola impronta nella musica elettronica anni 70-80. Niente di trascendentale, solamente il merito di aver reso fruibile una musica suonata dai synth, in un epoca in cui tutti li chiamavano "il moog" (!), ed il leader indiscusso di tale genere, almeno in Italia, sembrava essere Il Guardiano del Faro (doppio sigh).
Consiglio di riscoprirli, anche perché qualche ottimo brano lo hanno prodotto: "On The Road Again", "Electric Delight", "Galactica"... Riuscirono, senza dubbio, a coniugare ottimamente chitarre e bassi con synth, vocoder e Simmons elettroniche. Ed anche il look generò curiosità. Mi hanno riferito anche di performance live di tutto rispetto.
Ovvio, nessun intento di inserirli nell'albo dei migliori artisti elettronici, niente Kraftwerk per intenderci, però... se cercate qualcosa che non vi faccia addormentare come i Tangerine Dream, beh, prestateci un orecchio, potreste trovare qualcosina di sorprendente...
