Television è una band newyorkese formata nei primi anni ’70 e guidata da Tom Verlaine. Tra i protagonisti della scena CBGB, hanno definito la new wave con l’intreccio di chitarre Verlaine/Lloyd e l’album di culto Marquee Moon (1977). Dopo lo scioglimento, una reunion ha portato all’album Television (1992).
