Ah ah ah... Tra le mani mi è capitato casualmente questo disco, e sarò uno dei primi a recensirlo! (Esce il 23 Agosto)
Avviso: questo, come molti avranno già capito, NON è il mio genere però qualcosa di questo gruppo la so (soprattutto grazie alla loro immagine da punk assatanati) quindi non andatemi addosso subito se non condividete il mio personale giudizio...
"Always Outnumbered Never Outgunned" (titolo tratto dal famoso romanzo di Walter Mosley), ovvero l'atteso ritorno dei Prodigy, dopo il successo di The Fat Of The Land di ben 7 anni fa (!) è quasi arrivato in tutti i negozi di dischi, e secondo me non deluderà i loro fans, anche se sembra un disco un po' diverso rispetto al precedente che si rifà più alle loro opere passate.
Un album fatto di numerose collaborazioni (Le Ping Pong Bitches in "Girls" che sarà il primo singolo, Princess Superstar in "Memphis Bells", Kool Keith, quello che cantava "Smack My Bitch Up" e " Diesel Power", in "Wake Up Call", l'attrice Juliette Lewis in "Hotride" e Liam Gallagher degli Oasis in "Shoot Down"), che presenta beat interessanti e che però non ha canzoni tipo "Breathe" o "Baby's Got A Temper" ma si rifanno più a "Smack My Bitch Up" o "Vodoo People" in versione più matura. La maggiore parte delle canzoni sono ripetizioni di frasi condite da forti basi, "Get Up Get Off" (che è una delle poche che presenta versi e chorus) è una buona canzone.
Come detto, questo lavoro credo che non deluderà i fans, me a me non mi ha colpito più di tanto, forse perché speravo in una marcata influenza punk che aveva colpito Keith Flint l'anno scorso con la sua band "Flint"; anzi mi ha fatto venire solo voglia di ballare (d'altronde questo richiede il genere).

Quei Prodigy erano un fenomeno che, per quanto di breve durata ma di altissima intensità, aveva fatto apparire obsoleto tutto ciò che si ascoltava prima.
Un disco da ascoltare con 3-4 gran bei pezzi e qualcun altro perlomeno interessante e curioso: ma dove sono Keith e Maxim?

Ho aspettato 7 anni per questo album e cosa ho avuto tra le mani? Di sicuro un lavoro mediocre e la serie di inediti più scarsa che hanno fatto!
Non c'è dubbio che le canzoni migliori sono quelle cantate dalle signorine... rimane pur sempre una sorta di marmellata techno ed elettroclash.
