Eccomi a recensire il miglior album degli X-Japan (Insieme ad "Art Of Life") ''Blue Blood''.
L'opera inizia con un ''inno mondiale'' battezzato col nome ''Prologue (World Anthem)'', un inno della durata di 2 minuti e mezzo circa dove le chitarre di hide e Pata sono i veri protagonisti e creano un atmosfera di ''vittoria'' appunto. Il prossimo brano ''Blue Blood'', la title-track, le chitarre di Pata e hide la fanno ancora da padrona in una vera e propria canzone Speed-metal. La prossima canzone ''Weekend'', inizia con un riff abbastanza lento, ma si mischia dolcemente con il basso, molto ipnotizzante, e la voce inconfondibile di Toshi, il cantante. La batteria di Yoshiki dà inizio a una vera e propria ballata disco versione rock ''Easy Fight Rambling'' se volete trattatela come un ''Interlude'' che prepara il gruppo al trampolino di lancio per le prossime 3 canzoni, quelle che rappresentano di più gli X.
La prima è ''X'' dove si auto-lodano e ringraziano i loro fan, una loro biografia in una canzone se vogliamo dire. Un attimo di silenzio, attimo dove devi ancora riprendere coscienza dopo l'orgasmo di ''X'', ed ecco le dolci e malinconiche di ''Endless Rain'' che fà svanire del tutto quella sensazione di ''alienazione'' che ti ha fatto provare ''X'' e, può anche far piangere; è incredibile come il batterista e pianista del gruppo, Yoshiki, possa farti emozionare in questo modo, tutto è azzeccato: il pianoforte, la batteria, l'assolo di chitarra... se si potesse farei suonare questo brano al mio matrimonio. Mentre le note di ''Endless Rain'' svaniscono lentamente e il volume si abbassa, eccola, la CANZONE degli X. Gli arpeggi magici di hide accompagnano la voce piena di tristezza di Toshi e scompaiono come se fossero un sogno interrotto sul più bello, invece no, non è finita per niente. Alcuni colpi di piatti sulla batteria e parte il sodomizzante riff di ''Kurenai''. Tutto è perfetto, TUTTO. Gli assoli di hide e Pata, la voce piena di grinta di Toshi, l'assolo di batteria, il basso molto confuso...ci sono anche gli archi, che ci accompagnano sino alla fine per dare spazio a ''Xclamation'', uno strumentale di 3 minuti circa: ciò che ci vuole dopo un trio di canzoni così compatto. ''Xclamation'' è la canzone più sperimentale del album e qui, finalmente, il vero protagonista è il basso elettrico, più jazz che metal in questo caso il brano. La prossima canzone ''Orgasm'' inizia con i versi di una donna ansimante che,come dice il titolo, molto probabilmente ha appena avuto un orgasmo, cosa che anche io, quasi quasi, stavo per avere nei precedenti album. Il brano termina con il rombo di motore di un jet e dà tempo ad hide per inserire il jack della sua chitarra nel amplificatore e prepararlo per la prossima canzone ''Celebration'', chitarra che assomiglia, almeno secondo me, a quella di Brian May. Ecco un'altra genialata di Yoshiki, l'organo, che introduce il prossimo brano ''Rose of Pain'' con la ''Fuga'' di Bach e si diluisce nel silenzio e dà spazio al riff di chitarre che, arrivati a questo millennio, potremmo dire ''assomiglia vagamente ai Dimmu Borgir''. Un brano complicato e molto ''Dream Theateriano'' che termina nel migliore dei modi questo ''Album nel album''. L'ultimo brano ''Unfinished'' è una dolce ballad-rock interpretata da un maestoso Yoshiki al pianoforte che accompagna la voce dolce e calda di Toshi sino alla fine del album.
In sintesi è un album che mi ha soddisfatto pienamente, e ho apprezzato la qualità e la bravura di tutti i 5 membri.
