Eh lo so,questo album proprio non l'abbiamo digerito ma oggi,che ha gli anni di Cristo e ci avviciniamo a Natale,che fosse gran bel disco forse lo possiamo finalmente dire.
IO lo comprai al ritorno dalle vacanze quando nonne e zii mi regalavano qualcosa che spendevo immediatamente per portarmi a casa qualche padellone ascoltandolo fino a consumarlo.
Il piu malridotto di tutti era Zenyatta Mondatta che nelle intenzioni dei Police doveva iniziare con un breve tappeto di tastiere mentre la mia copia somigliava piu a un campo di battaglia con tanto di scoppi bombardamenti e missilistica contraerea.
Dunque 90125 (ma perche la copertina è nera?) arriva nell'83 dopo l'esperienza coi Buggles,fuori Steve Howe dentro un altro virtuoso (Trevor Rabin),torna Tony Kaye (gioia e tripudio) Anderson ripescato al volo si riunisce con gli onnipresenti Squire e White.
Il suono è potente e preciso,Rabin spadroneggia,White è forte e incisivo come non mai,i brani praticamente perfetti, resi immaginifici solo dalla voce cristallina di Jon.
La title track è un successo clamoroso,ma anche il resto dell'album regge splendidamente costruito sulle sonorità di quel tempo con grande coralità.
Non manca proprio nulla,eppure,Eh ma Wakeman,ma le porte del delirio èèè..siamo negli anni 80,non dimentichiamolo!
Personalmente non lo ascoltavo da tanto (vedi Zenyatta Mondatta) ma qualche giorno fa l'ho ricomprato ad un mercatino in CD ed è stato proprio come ritrovare un vecchio amico.
Esiste anche una bellissima ed imperdibile versione live
