Preso dalla nostalgia, oggi scrivo forse la recensione più inutile della storia di Debaser, inutile per voi, ma nel suo piccolo, nella mia esistenza la più importante. Non so chi sarei oggi, probabilmente la stessa merda di sempre, ma differente in molti aspetti se per sbaglio le mie orecchie non fossero state stregate da questo album; una raccolta per la precisione, l'unica raccolta che abbia mai avuto.
All'epoca, dovrebbero essere stati i primi anni novanta, facevo le medie, non avevo il lettore cd, non avevo nemmeno il mio tanto amato giradischi, avevo solo un mangianastri che alternava paradossalmente le musicassette discoteca e i Led Zeppelin di mia sorella. Il più sfigato dei miei compagni di classe un giorno si presenta a casa mia con una MC originale di un gruppo mai ascoltato, regalata dallo zio per il compleanno. Black Sabbath, non avevo idea di cosa significasse "Sabbath" e nemmeno me ne fregava molto, ma quel "Black", senza aver ascoltato il lavoro, aveva già cominciato a cambiare il metabolismo del mio cervello. Ero piccolo, stupido ed immaturo ed un lato di me aveva quasi paura, quella musica era il male...
Premendo play ebbi la sensazione che la musicassetta o lo stereo fossero rovinati, la stessa che si prova mettendo un 45 giri in modalità 33. Tutto così tetro, blasfemo e sulfureo. Ci volle poco a capire che non c'era nulla di rotto, era la musica dei Black Sabbath, mi passò la morte dietro la schiena e mi venne la pelle d'oca, una cosa che con la musica in futuro non avrei mai più avuto così intensamente.
Giorni e giorni, mesi e mesi ad ascoltare questa cassetta, nulla di altro, tutta la musica sterco posta sopra la mensola in camera finì prima nello scantinato, poi nell'immondizia, i Black Sabbath erano qualcosa di superiore ed io con il volume a palla nella saletta saltavo e fingevo di suonare la chitarra con la riga della scuola. "Into the Void" ricordo era una delle mie preferite, "War Pigs", "The Dark", "N.I.B.", assolutamente ascoltavo tutto da cima a piedi senza cercare di paragonare e senza giudicare, non sapevo i nomi dei componenti, chi cazzo era "Ozzy", non mi interessava capire volevo solo ascoltare, indifferente anche al fatto brano dopo brano cambiavano anche i cantanti. Come un malato di mente preferivo starmene a casa con la loro musica che uscire con gli amici. E fu inutile cercare di far provare lo stesso mio amore verso quella cassetta ai miei compagni, ma nello stesso tempo ero felice, mi sentivo uno dei pochi prescelti, ero diverso e questo non faceva altro che aumentare la stima verso me stesso, iniziò così la mia "emarginazione" dalla società, ero "superiore" gli altri no...
Ripeto: ero piccolo e stupido. E quando finalmente a casa mia arrivò il primo lettore cd non cercai altro che questo disco, comprandolo e continuandolo ad ascoltare fino alla pazzia.
Ecco quello che gli altri prendono come un inutile "Greatest Hits", che nella storia dei Black Sabbath conta poco-nulla a me ha cambiato la vita (non so se in bene o in male). Ma per ovvi legami affettivi, quando rispunta fuori dalla credenza insieme a tutti gli altri CD, non posso che riascoltarlo e carico di vecchi ricordi ancora oggi lo ringrazio di avermi "salvato".
Sono sicuro che come a me, quasi tutti voi abbiate avuto una storia simile, naturalmente con altri dischi e con altri artisti, quindi potete ben capire come sarebbe poco attendibile un voto a tutto ciò...
