Nei meravigliosi 90, due DJ francesi coi controcazzi hanno letteralmente insegnato al mondo come si fa un album techno-house con le palle (dorate). Il risultato fu devastante: in pochi anni le radio di tutto il mondo furono invase dagli imitatori di questo duo che ha creato un album da ricordare come il loro capolavoro assoluto e una pietra miliare dell'elettronica francese.
Le canzoni più memorabili rimangono certamente la bellissima "da funk", la stupenda " revolution 909" (un vero e proprio inno all'elettronica) e, ovviamente, quella perla di "around the world" famosa per quella frase ripetuta ossessivamente negli oltre 7 minuti del brano che gli da quel tocco di "daftpunkiano" davvero figo.
Il resto è pura goduria per le orecchie: beat sempre ottimi (burnin', alive...) riempitivi ben fatti (teachers, oh yeah...) e qualche canzone non eccelsa (fresh su tutte).
Insomma, arriviamo al punto: un capolavoro di musica techno come pochi, fonte d'ispirazione per molti DJ odierni. Se amate il genere non potete non averlo.
