E' notte fonda e hai appena passato una serata del cazzo, hai visto la tipa che ti piace slinguarsi appassionatamente con un fighetto discotecaro al quale spaccheresti volentieri il setto nasale... Proprio mentre ti stai preparando per la pacifica chiacchierata guardi bene il tuo bersaglio e ti accorgi che è il doppio di te e come se non bastasse sembra divertirsi a sfoggiare un allegro catenaccio dalla cinta...
Altro passo importante di questa magnifica serata è quando appena uscito dal locale vedi il tuo carissimo cugino contro il muro e in compagnia di quattro tipi (probabilmente amici di quello che ti ha deriso), i quali sembrano desiderosi di parlare del più e del meno... Ssssì, sarà così, l'unico fattore sospetto è che per parlare si servono di un carinissimo coltellino a serramanico... Tu ti getti nella mischia e mentre gridi a tuo cugino "Vattene o qui finisce male!" cerchi di dimentarti e decidi di dartela a gambe pure tu... Loro ti inseguono e tu stai correndo via dal piazzale del bar... Stai ormai costeggiando la strada e sfinito ti getti insieme a tuo cugino nel prato attaccato alla strada, li hai seminati, ora però ti tocca fare due chilometri a piedi perché il motorino lo hai lasciato al locale e non è saggio tornarci...
...Così ti ritrovi steso sul letto senza un muscolo che abbia una minima dose di sensibilità, la musica può aiutarti... Ma io sono un tipo strano... Non ho voglia di tirarmi su il morale schiacciato da un'auto, voglio riprendere grinta, una grinta spaventosa, una grinta che mi permetta di andare dalla tipa, scoparmela e farmi beccare dal fighetto che riempirò di botte senza contare fino a dieci... Qui c'è bisogno di roba forte, i Katatonia fanno al caso mio e cosa è migliore di "Live Consternation"?
Musica senza fronzoli, testi oscuri e una voce che a me emoziona da morire...
Un'introduzione un pò classica persuade la mente e fa riflettere su quello che è appena successo, poi le schitarrate di "Leaders" spazzano via quei pensieri, Jonas Renske canta note basse, apparentemente rilassate, ma che allo stesso tempo trasudano rabbia... "Wealth" mi raggiunge dritto alle vene e con quel vago sapore psichedelico fa capire che l'incazzatura uscirà in seguito, anche se è come trattenere una bestia impazzita... Stesso discorso anche per l'eccezionale "Soil's Song", nel cui ritornello sembra di precipitare in un tunnel senza fondo, la seguente "Had to (Leave)" trova nel muro di chitarre la parte forte e il momento della verità si avvicina sempre di più. "Cold Ways" inquieta ed ormai è tempo di resa dei conti... Quei fascistelli devono pagare, per tutti i pugni che mi hanno tirato, per avermi rubato la tipa e avermi lasciato a piedi sulla strada... Però sarò pronto? Mi viene il dubbio ascoltando "Right into the Bliss", con quella pesantezza melodica e la voce misteriosa del cantante... "Ghost of the Sun" fa pensare a tutte le volte che nella mia breve esistenza mi hanno trattato male e il gruppo che suona sembra che il fantasma del sole lo abbia già visto più di una volta... "Criminals" è a mio parere un po' la pecca di questo live e passa abbastanza inosservata. "Deliberation" mette addosso grinta ed energia, pacateperò dalla sempre infallibile voce calda di Jonas... A chiudere allo stesso modo (cioè con grinta e determinazione) il concerto ci sono "July" ed "Evidence".
Il concerto è finito... Adesso ho la forza di fare qualsiasi cosa... Dal portare avanti i miei ideali al riflettere sulle idee... Prima però devo dare il benservito a quei tipi che siccome hanno tatuata una svastica pensano di essere superiori agli altri...
Questo disco regala la forza di affrontare tutto e secondo me è un tipo di emozione molto importante... Almeno per me.
