Cap. VI: Un eterno meccanismo.
Il movimento rettilineo è un movimento che anela a ciò che ancora non possiede, e perciò è imperfetto.
Il movimento circolare, per contro, torna soltanto a se stesso, e perciò è immagine vivente dell’eternità.
È cioè un movimento immobile, stagliato oltre il tempo, come limite di esso.
All’eternità del sintetico si contrappone la deperibilità dell’umano.
Come un sistema chiuso, l’Europa.
Un treno eternamente l’attraversa.
Il percorso è pensato perché i due estremi —inizio e fine— vengano a collimare.
Tra gli estremi, alcune tappe di questo Uroboro su rotaie.
Alcune torve incursioni in un mondo crepuscolare; in un mondo di maschere, di specchi e di manichini.
Alcuni momenti, anch’essi stagliati oltre il tempo.
Poi, una incessante ripetizione si fa di nuovo strada, elevandosi, dall’inossidabilità dell’acciaio (“Metal on Metal”) all’impalpabilità della melodia (“Franz Schubert”).
Sequenze ripetute, null’altro.
(Ripetute potenzialmente all’infinito.)
Per loro tramite, avviene l’impossibile.
Un tempo finito (40 minuti circa) è in grado di farsi immagine concreta di un tempo infinito.
Il prodotto dell’uomo, con ciò, supera i limiti temporali imposti all’uomo dalla sua caducità.
Il prodotto dell’industria umana, emancipatosi infine dalla deperibilità umana, si fa eterno.
Il prodotto dell’uomo imperfetto, raggiunge la perfezione.

Trans Europe Express suona il treno, è come se lo avesse campionato, siamo davvero nel vagone ed osserviamo l’Europa che scorre da Berlino a Parigi.
I Kraftwerk hanno avuto il merito di imporre un’estetica musicale e culturale attraverso i propri albums.
