Madonna non farà mai più un album così! Perché ormai ha perso di creatività, e tenta in tutti i modi, di comprarsi la critica, producendo cose decisamente al di fuori del suo repertorio.
Ma nel '98 ha creato, si fa per dire perchè la metà dell'opera l'ha fatta Orbit, un album mistico, con reale potenzialità di rimanere l'esperimento più riuscito di dare un'anima alla tecno, genere che mi piace davvero poco, ma che nelle mani di Madonna/Orbit ha saputo esprimere emozioni palpabili.
Mollate tutti i pregiudizi su un'artista che ha cercato per 20 anni di piacere a pubblico e critica con mosse astute di marketing e colpi di scena spaventosi, ma non ha mai smesso di essere creativa, e non si è mai riposata sugli allori, e specialmente non si è mai presa sul serio, un'artista di un'ironia formidabile e che ha saputo portare argomenti anche più pesanti e culturalmente evoluti ad un publico ancora immaturo e impreparato a stili e testi di più difficile comprensione.
Questo è l'esempio più clamoroso, un album melodico, mistico, con liriche che parlano della famiglia, di spiritualità e di tutto ciò che ha fatto cambiare Madonna dalla porno diva di Erotica a Ester la super religiosa, sarà tutto marketing e falsità, ma quello che per fortuna resta è la musica, e qui ci sono dei capitoli di formidabile musica, la mia canzone preferita "Skin", dove la voce di Madonna è pesante come i vari giri elettronici, e ti sembra di essere in un mondo girato a metà, o "Sky Fits Heavin", o la bellissima "Mer Girl", dove ti trovi davanti una Madonna evidentemente affaticata, che parla a sua figlia e le dice che il bosco nasconde oscure trame, o a "Frozen" canzone accampagnata pure da un bellissimo video, questo è indiscutibilmente l'album migliore di Madonna, dove si scopre per la prima volta artista a 360%, magari si sarà pure presa troppo sul serio, magari tutta questa patina da mamma felice è una farsa, ma chi se ne frega... a me questo album mi emoziona, e questo non è poco per me.
