Cantautore britannico nato a Londra nel 1948, emerso a fine anni ’60. Con gli album di inizio ’70 ha firmato classici del folk/soft rock come Tea for the Tillerman e Teaser and the Firecat. Si è convertito all’Islam nel 1977, adottando il nome Yusuf Islam nel 1978, per poi tornare alla musica dal 2006 come Yusuf / Cat Stevens.
