I Children of Bodom sono stati una delle band più influenti della scena metal finlandese, celebri per aver miscelato death melodico, influenze power e thrash e una tecnica strumentale fuori dal comune. Guidati da Alexi Laiho, hanno lasciato il segno negli anni ’90 e 2000 con intrecci tastiera-chitarra diventati leggendari (e spesso causa di risse virtuali sui generi di appartenenza).
