Cantautore e chitarrista folk statunitense, nato a Brooklyn il 21 gennaio 1941. Emerso nella scena del Greenwich Village, è noto per l’apertura di Woodstock nel 1969 e per l’interpretazione “Freedom”. Celebre per la voce calda e lo strumming in open tunings.
