Sam Cooke

Sam Cooke (1931–1964) è stato un cantante e autore statunitense, figura chiave nella nascita del soul. Dalle radici gospel con i Soul Stirrers passò ai successi pop-R&B con brani come You Send Me, Chain Gang, Cupid, Twistin’ the Night Away, Bring It On Home to Me e A Change Is Gonna Come. Fondò la SAR Records, firmò con RCA e sostenne il movimento per i diritti civili. Morì l’11 dicembre 1964 a Los Angeles.
