 La produzione è pessima, la tastiera è convincente solo nelle introduzioni.

 Un album frettoloso, ma non da buttar via, da ascoltare per farsi un'idea sulle origini della band.

Il debutto degli Stratovarius, Fright Night, mostra un lato grezzo della band con una produzione scadente e una voce aggressiva di Timo Tolkki. Sebbene inferiore rispetto agli album successivi, presenta spunti interessanti come la traccia Darkness.
