 Paul manifesta chiaramente il suo amore per un certo Soul anni ’60 (Stax/Motown), il gruppo vira in direzione R’& B’, Funk e perché no Calypso con l’aggiunta di fiati e di tastiere.

 The Gift è quindi un album consigliatissimo e pieno di brani realmente riusciti. Espressione della maturità ormai raggiunta da Paul Weller.

Attivi tra il 1972 e il 1982, hanno pubblicato sei album in studio e firmato numerosi singoli ai vertici delle classifiche UK, da Going Underground a Town Called Malice e That’s Entertainment.
