Lo spazio ci chiama.
Pulsazioni, vibrazioni, echi ancestrali si fanno largo dalle profondità dell'universo e giungono sino alla nostra mente. Colori che attraversano il corpo e la materia e che scorrono incessantemente davanti ai nostri occhi; increduli, li stiamo ad ammirare, con lo sguardo pieno di stupore come quello di un bambino, ma consapevoli che quei lampi di colore siamo noi, ci appartengono, pezzi della stessa anima.
Una nuova esperienza multiforme, un nuovo viaggio. Alex Paterson è il nostro capitano, i suoi Orb il resto della ciurma spaziale e "The Orb's Adventures Beyond The Ultraworld" è la nostra navicella spaziale. Allacciate le cinture, liberate la vostra mente, fate un bel respiro profondo e soprattutto rilassatevi....
L'ambient-house degli Orb vi cullerà dolcemente i sensi, mentre il nostro cammino prosegue senza fretta verso il centro dell'universo: la dinamica "Little Fluffy Clouds" vi da il buongiorno su una nuova alba spaziale, mentre ancora assonnati e increduli dello spettacolo che avete di fronte, vi aggirate cauti per la navicella orbitante. I beat e i rumori elettronici a tratti inquietanti di "Earth (Gaia)" si propagano tutt'intorno, mentre una voce vi aggiorna sulla situazione a bordo e sulla rotta. Ad un tratto veniamo investiti dalla luce di miliardi di stelle, mentre note soffuse, voci che si perdono nello spazio, echi industriali e battiti dal sapore psichedelico incominciano a galleggiare in questa nuova dimensione: "Supernova At The End Of The Universe", "Back Side Of The Moon" e "Into The Fourth Dimension" sono le voci dei pianeti, il silenzioso espandersi delle galassie, immagini frattali della nostra mente.
Ma il nostro viaggio è quasi volto al termine: suoni misteriosi ci avvolgono e ipnotizzano come il canto di una sirena arenata su qualche asteroide di passaggio; è la voce dell'"enorme cervello pulsante che risiede al centro dell'universo" che ci avverte che siamo giunti al limite dello spazio conosciuto. Alex Paterson ci congeda dalla sua musica quasi palpabile e multiforme con un sorriso soddisfatto, sicuro che ci rincontreremo non molto tardi da qualche altra parte nella sua mente geniale.
Lo spazio ci chiama, il viaggio è appena incominciato.
