"I let somebody get under my skin,
Long distance losing is all that I've seen,
Now there's a river,
Now there's a river"
Sono le parole di "Long Distance", forse la più bella e struggente canzone del disco, primo singolo.
"Summer rain, dripping down your face again
Summer rain, praying someone feels the same
Take the pain killer, cycle on your bicycle
Leave all this misery behind"
Tratto da "Pain Killer", secondo singolo, altra bella ballata del disco che risulta complessivamente piacevole, meno noioso del precendente.
Bella anche la canzone con cui comincia il disco, "Blue Hour". "Little Brother" mi ricorda qualcosa dei Pink Floyd tipo "Dark Side Of The Moon".
Semplice.

01 Blue Hour (03:42)
Oh let the sun be done
Let the air wash the city clean
Oh let the blue hour come
For everyone
For everyone the sun
We all need some
Pace of this place slow down
Suits throw your phones to the ground
With the blue in your lungs begun
For everyone
For everyone the sun
We all need some
Time to go fishing
Reels screaming
For all weary souls
The endless song
For everyone
For everyone this song
We all need one
02 Average Man (02:43)
If i was a farmer
Instead of a faker
If i was a realer
and not just some raker
Raking through a memory
that just doesn't belong to me
Just someone I could of been
if only i kept walking...
Have another drink my son
Enjoy another cigarette
'Cause it's time you realised...
you're just an average man...
Alone on a motorway
you catch you're breath
Cat's eyes lead everyway
to lonesomness
Then you learn to hide your fears
and downsize your dreams
Still alive, still sincere
inside the scheme...
If this is darkness here
if this is darkness... coming
Have another drink my son
03 Long Distance (04:27)
Well if this gets ugly,
I'd swear,
This ain't our last chance,
The vultures that circle,
My head,
Are flying alongside,
The world's turning.
I let somebody get under my skin,
Long distance losing is all that I've seen,
Now there's a river
Now there's a river.
Nothing can save me,
My reserve betrayed me,
It calmed the hurricanes,
I'm burning to get there,
The middle of nowhere,
Storm warnings flicker while,
The world's turning,
I let somebody get under my skin,
Long distance losing is all that I've seen,
Now there's a river
Now there's a river.
I let somebody get under my skin,
Long distance losing is all that I've seen,
Now there's a river
Now there's a river
04 Self Help (04:23)
Breathe in good, breathe out bad
Remind yourself of the things you have, it's easy
Pull a smile onto your face
Understand that making friends is easy
So tell yourself it will be ok
Remind yourself that you're not just in it for the money
The end, the end, the end, the end,the end
My friend, where's the end?
You're up, you're down, you're in the ground in the end
My friend, where's the end?
I've found myself deep down in the dirt
I got to get myself to my feet, yeah
So tell myself it will be ok
Remind myself that I'm not just in it for the money
The end, the end, the end, the end, the end
My friend, where's the end?
You're up, you're down, you're in the ground in the end
My friend, where's the end?
05 Falling Down (03:30)
You move so sweet
There's enough to write a book about it
When you speak
It takes a while for the words to settle
They carry on into the next town
Stick through sand and drag your name
Drag your name, you're always falling down
Cover your face, take a seat
Before you're falling down
You burn so slow
You burn the way that every candle wants to go
When you dance
You take the breeze
You take the breeze and spin it right through me
Stick through sand drag your name
Drag your name you're always falling down
Cover your face, take a seat
Before you're falling down
There's some things that you can't hide
You never left the ground, you're always falling down
You have to see we're on your side
You never left the ground, you're always falling down
06 Stone Thrown (04:05)
I'm the stone you've just thrown into the ocean
How many stones have you thrown?
Turin brown, I'm going down for the very first time
Now where's the truth in this?
I dared to dream
But you were more violent than the worst hurricane
Oh take me sailing again
Oh take me sailing again
You're taking aim
Your fiery flame infects the freedom fighter
Your love was just a fucking game
So love me like my brother should
Keep me safe from harm like nobody could, yeah
I see the sorrow, it don't look too good
Oh take me sailing again
Oh take me sailing again
But here in the ocean currents dag me deeper down
But I'm the stone that can't be drowned
Oh take me sailing again
Oh take me sailing again
I'm the stone you've just thrown into the ocean
How many stones have you thrown?
08 Pain Killer (03:55)
Batten up the hatches, here comes the cold
I can feel it creeping, and it's making me old
You give me so much love that it blows my brains out
You need something better than the bacon and eggs
The creaking in the walls and the banging in the bed
You give me so much love that it blows my brains out
Summer rain, dripping down your face again
Summer rain, praying someone feels the same
Take the pain killer, cycle on your bicycle
Leave all this misery behind
My love giving me head, feeling very guilty, breaking the bread
Losing my attention, I'm taking the world on
So batten up the hatches, here comes the cold
I can feel it creeping, and it's making me old
You give me so much love that it blows my brains out
Summer rain, dripping down your face again
Summer rain, praying someone feels the same
Take the pain killer, cycle on your bicycle
Leave all this misery behind
My love, my love, my love, oh my love
Summer rain, dripping down your face again
Summer rain, praying someone feels the same
Take the pain killer, cycle on your bicycle
Leave all this misery behind
Summer rain, dripping down your face again
Summer rain, praying someone feels the same
Take the pain killer, cycle on your bicycle
Leave all this misery behind
Leave all this misery behind (summer rain)
Leave all this misery behind (summer rain)
Leave all this misery behind (summer rain)
09 Full of Stars (04:40)
I'm going to get me a bone today
Under this pale blue sky
Under the tree where my last love laid,
Now where beneath the leaves she lies
I'm going to dig a deep hole,
n' Crack open this bone,
See where all the wonder went,
See where now it's all gone
Look at the light, it's full of stars
What's really happening? Something wonderful
It's not as bad as is told,
To lose all that was loved
It's the demons who drag you down
But the angels pull you up...
Don't let the colors bring you down,
They'll get much brighter one day
You know all things will come around if you leave them in their sway
I'm going yo save it all in these photographs
Keep something here for me
When I'm dead and gone I'll laugh last
At what's left here to see
10 Panic Attack (02:29)
Paint your panic attack
Lonely, Inside a lift
The smallest thing could strip you to your skin
Feel your lonely skies
When times are hard, wave bye bye
Bye, bye, baby burning eyes of demise
Paint your lonely skies
Burning eyes, wave bye, bye, to your skin
You to your skin, baby bye
The smallest thing inside a lift
To your skin baby times are hard
Paint your eyes, Paint panic back to demise
Strip your panic attack
Lonely eyes baby, burn to your skin
Inside a lift to your skies x2
12 Rain City (04:06)
Opened my eyes had a dream last night
that both my arms were broken
Evening time
Help me now or hold me down
I feel my world is tumbling
Spiral down
Oh my love I can’t let go
Something’s wrong I can’t let go
Natures cruel she laughs at me
As I make my way through the century
As I slowly turn to house dust
Tumbling down
The rain comes down like a victory
In sheets of shining memory
Over and over circling around
Oh my love I can’t let go
Something’s wrong I can’t let go
Natures cruel she laughs at me
Almost too much for my heart
When it rains
Oh, tears my soul apart
When it rains, it rains so slowly
In the city
Where I'm from
13 Ether Song (07:32)
In the ether, in the ether's air
Would you be there? would you be my friend?
In the morning, in the morning rain
In the binary of a data stream
On an airplane, on a radio
All around me in the ether's flow
Under an orange sun
Running from what I've become
What am I running from?
You can't take a photograph of it at night
It lives in the code of a firefly buzzing
It vibrates through brickwalls, keeping their time
It cuddles the creeping chaos coming
I see it more clearly than ever before
I'm in its invisible river flowing
Through everything I've ever been through before
Heads up, something's really happening
14 5 Mile (These Are the Days) (04:00)
In the five mile high club
You are done for
Concentrate on landing
The town looks peaceful
Jet planes fly too close to the ground
It makes these houses shake
Flimsy figures fall to the ground
In a sentimental earthquake
Oh that's alright, that's alright
That's alright sad song tonight, oh...
These are the days that are driving me crazy
These are the days that are driving me insane
Everyday let your love shine down all around me
These are the days that are driving me crazy
When brothers and sisters fall to the ground
In half hast harmony
Lots of dreams for their wide eyes
But a small reality
Oh that's alright, that's alright
That's alright sad song tonight, oh...
These are the days that are driving me crazy
These are the days that are driving me insane
Take a train and then a jet plane
Travel back and forth in time
Pleased to meet you, what's your name?
I'm afraid I forgotten mine
Oh that's alright, that's alright
That's alright sad song tonight, oh...
These are the days that are driving me crazy
These are the days that are driving me insane
Everyday let your love shine down all around me
'Cos these are the days that are driving me crazy
These are the days - Let your love shine down on me
These are the days - Let your love shine down all around me
15 The Boss (04:09)
Saturday night, where am I going?
I'm going to work inside a kitchen
I'll be making you mush and cleaing the deep fat fryer
Here it comes now the king of irony
Whos good to you? - I am I am the boss
Whos good to you? - I am I am the boss
Of the century
Having a good steak, feeling fancy
Hopping around like the pig that you are
I'm stuck to this sink like a twisted bar fly
Good view from the window but I ain't got no wings
Whos good to you? - I am I am the boss
Whos good to you? - I am I am the boss
Of the century
Whos good to you? - I am I am the boss
Whos good to you? - I am I am the boss
Of the century, of the century
Whos good to you?
Whos good to you?
Whos good to you?
Whos good to you? yeah...
