Seconda fatica per i Zeraphine: Traumaworld. Già dal titolo si capisce cosa si vuol comunicare, un album "oscuro" o meglio dark o gothic, ma non mancano le melodie. Il genere gothic per questa band tedesca è più intenso rispetto ai soliti gruppi che si sentono nominare in giro. E' un gothic rock/metal più tendente al darkwave, se si potrebbe definire meglio, anche se più melodico e atmosferico.
A partire dal primo brano non manca qualche influenza elettronica e synth qua e là nei brani. Peraltro è presente la cover "In Your Room" dei Depeche Mode, gruppo che ha una grossa influenza nel genere del gruppo, che come si dice in giro, già per altri gruppi sono depechemodeizzati; si vede subito dal timbro di voce e dallo stile adottato nella maggior parte dei pezzi.
E' anche vero che forse certi pezzi sono un po' simili e monotoni, come "Light Your Stars" e "No More Doubts". Non mancano pezzi interamente in tedesco come "Schreit Dein Herz", e l'ultima traccia "Wenn Du Gehst".
Il gruppo ricorda molto le sonorità del precedente gruppo fondato dal cantante, ormai defunto, i Dreadful Shadows (in attività dal 1993 al 2000), un'altro gruppo gothic rock - darkwave, anche se molto meno melodico, e con meno influenze alla Depeche Mode.
Tutto sommato resta un buon album ascoltabile. Consigliato agli amanti del gothic, darkwave, synthpop e derivati.
