E' passato un bel pò di tempo dalla mia ultima recensione (non che ne abbia scritte tante, ma comunque..) e la mia missione continua: scrivere recensioni che nessuno ha mai recensito su questo sito.
Premetto subito che non starò qui a discutere, come molti fans dei Bad Religion e non han fatto nel corso della storia (dal 1983, anno di pubblicazione di questo disco, ad oggi), sulla diversità enorme tra questo disco e gli altri dei Bad Religion. Voglio parlare del disco in sè.
Ok, parliamone tranquillamente.
Come già citato sopra, Into The Unknown esce nel 1983 ed è il secondo full-lenght per i Bad Religion. Il disco si fa notare per l'enorme diversità tra il sound rispetto al primo album (How Could Hell Be Any Worse?) e all'omonimo EP: quest'ultime avevano lanciato i Bad Religion in un ambiente prettamente Hardcore Punk ma con Into The Unknown si ha un totale cambiamento di stile, passando ad un Rock costellato da influenze Progressive (notevole e massiccio uso di tastiere e organi elettrici) e Pop ma con qualche sonorità Punk nel profondo.
La prima traccia è "It's Only Over When…" è una traccia che fa subito capire le intenzioni di questo disco, presentando tutte le caratteristiche (sovracitate) del disco. Segue una divertentissima e forse la mia preferita del disco "Chasing the Wild Goose"; un'altrettanto carina e divertente "Billy Gnosis"; segue la più lunga traccia del disco (7 minuti e 4 secondi) "Time and Disregard", una traccia Progressive, oserei dire, con le sue parti di chitarra acustica molto melodiche; seguono "The Dichotomy" e "Million Days", il primo brano presenta sonorità più cupe e lente in alcune parti (il basso su questo brano ha un ruolo importante, con attenzione anche con delle parti interessante di organo) e il secondo dalle sonorità molto melodiche e leggere, condite con delle buone parti di pianoforte e chitarre acustiche; segue l'altra mia preferita "Losing Generation", una traccia molto accattivante con delle parti di tastiera a dir poco fantastiche; chiude il disco "…You Give Up", brano un pò meno convincente degli altri al primo ascolto ma alla fine pur sempre un buon brano, molto carine le parti di pianoforte.
Vorrei concludere semplicemente dicendo che per quest'album ci volevano più di 8 brani perchè è davvero sempre piacevole ascoltare questo disco.
