Almeno due album capolavoro a metà degli anni 2000: Brother, Sister e soprattutto Catch For Us The Foxes, disco meraviglioso e seminale che ha dato tantissimo alla scena.
Ad oggi lavorano -forse con un po' di manierismo- sui loro punti di forza, continuando a sfornare album niente male.

Less influenced by British psychedelia than the first album, 'Mutantes' it is on the other hand much more kaleidoscopicic ('Dom Quixote', 'Dois mile e um') and tropicalist. Os Mutantes reinforce their humouristic approach and go on experimenting and mixing different genres. A sort of psychedelic cabaret, a theatrical performance in sound in which you could hear the echo of the lucid madness of the writing of an artist like Donovan ('Nao va se perder por ai'), some evocative episodes like 'Fuga No. II' and good pop ballads like 'Qualquer bobagem', 'Caminhante noturna'. There's also a their own personal revisitation of the Italian pop song 'Tintarella di Luna'. In the end, you will probably consider that there're too much things into this record, but listening to it you don't care at all and this is just because it works. That's the magic of the sound of this band. di più

Philip K. Dick himself admitted he didn't undestand at all 'Ubik'. He didn't expect it was going to be so much considered by his readers and definitely one of his most considered and influential opera during the years. We're in the North American Confederation in 1992, psi phenomena are common, the people who dies they are kept in a state of half-life (a form of cryonic suspension), after an explosion Joe Chip started misteriously shifting backward in time. Who and/or what's 'Ubik'? A spray can-metaphor for God which gave to people the power to understand who and where they are and how to survive and keep on living their own life. Influenced by acid psychedelia and probably written under the usage of LSD, 'Ubik' it is an opera which has possibly no time and that refuges from all the kind of possible definition. I'm not a great fan of Sacha Baron Cohen. I don't find him so much brilliant and it is undoubt that his movies they're almost stupid and sometimes gross or vulgar. So, there're no relevant contents in 'Grimbsy', an action movie with a spy plot directed by Louis Leterrier, but the buddy couple formed by Baron Cohen and Mark Strong works and of course some parts of the movie are really funny (for example, the one in which Baron Cohen makes a fun parody of Liam Gallagher) and I appreciate the genuine and funny way he described the suburbia of Grimbsy and the people who live there. Definitely, it's a movie in which of course there're no limits in every possible sense, but that could make you smile. Not from the beginning to the end: Baron Cohenin fact is not capable in finding a balance between making a good comedy and depreciating into the vulgar and unuseful. What a pity. di più

Giustamente guardato nei giorni successivi la fine di Euro 2016. Il film di Kasper Barfoed ricostruisce quella che fu la incredibile parabola della Nazionale danese (ripescata dopo l'esclusione della Yugoslavia) ai campionati europei di Svezia del 1992. È la storia in particolare dell'allenatore Richard Moller Nielsen, morto nel 2014 e cui il film è idealmente dedicato, e di come riuscì a vincere lo scetticismo dei tifosi e dei suoi stessi giocatori, tra i quali l'intransingente Brian Laudrup. Dentro ci sono ovviamente le storie di Peter Schmeichel, Flemming Povlsen, John 'Faxe' Jensen e ovviamente quella dell'eroe degli eroi Kim Vilfort, autore del secondo goal in finale e alle prese con la figlia malata di leucemia e che purtroppo morirà poche settimane dopo la fine del torneo. Bello e leggero, senza nessuna pretesa di essere drammatico o per forza commovente. di più

Quarto disco solista di Jakob Scott, batterista dei Causa Sui, uscito via El Paraiso Records. Vero e autentico terrorista del suono, in queste cinque tracce, che sono poi una specie di manifesto artistico, Scott compie una specie di terapia panica. Il suono è completamente schizzato e privo di nessuna costante. A tratti caleidoscopico, sicuramente colorato e mai in qualche maniera pesante, regna imperioso (come potrebbe essere altrimenti) tra puntate di free-jazz acido e sonorità droniche, il suono fracassante della batteria, mentre quello dei sintetizzatori sembra quasi catapultarci di forza fuori dalla nostra capsula e nello spazio aperto. Completamente impazzito. Roba da fare schizzare le cervella anche alla persona più equilibrata. di più
