Il disco mini live sarebbe anche valido se non fosse registrato cosi male che sembra fatto con un telefonino in mezzo al pubblico da una certa distanza. E a quei tempi non esistevano i telefonini quindi non vi dico cosa si sente se ascoltato su un impianto serio.

Il loro apice, grezzo cazzuto e stra-colmo di quelle influenze post punk che già con il disco successivo andranno a perdersi. Le migliori versioni in assoluto di "Sunday Bloody Sunday" e "New Year's Day" sono in questo disco.

ce l'ho anch'io in vinile, preso usato in un negozietto di Praga per pochi euro: i primi U2 non mi fanno impazzire, ma questo è un live davvero forte e diretto, lontanissimo dalle impalcature faraoniche degli anni '90

Possiedo i primi sei album in vinile degli irlandesi in un elegante cofanetto. Fino all'albero di Giosuè ritengo la loro musica necessaria per la mia crescita musicale; concerto maggio 1987 a Modena con Pretenders, Big Audio Dynamite e Lone Justice, nonché U2 stessi, pietra miliare della mia vasta attività live.....Dopo Achtung Baby potevano concludere la loro carriera, senza perdersi in un oblio senza fondo. Ed ho versato lacrime amare per tutto ciò.

Per me gli U2 finiscono con "Rattle and Hum", seppur i due successivi siano comunque ottimi.

Sarà che sono meno legato ai primi U2, ma per me restano interessanti fino a Pop incluso. (e ci aggiungo pure il progetto Passengers)
Potranno anche non piacere, ma per dischi come Zooropa e Pop bisogna perlomeno riconoscere agli U2 una certa dose di coraggio, cosa che è totalmente mancata dal 2000 in avanti...

E' fuor discussione il coraggio che hanno avuto nello sperimentare e ricercare qualcosa di diverso nella loro musica dopo l'oscuro capolavoro berliniano Acthung Baby; quello che non ho mai accettato è la metamorfosi ridicola di Bono, paladino di qualsiasi crociata contro i mali del mondo....il tutto purtroppo a discapito della loro musica, che si è fatta album dopo album sempre più spenta, con rarissimi spunti sonori degni del loro glorioso passato.
