Gli Shinedown sono una rock band statunitense nata a Jacksonville (Florida) nel 2001. La formazione stabile comprende Brent Smith (voce), Zach Myers (chitarre), Eric Bass (basso, tastiere, produzione) e Barry Kerch (batteria). Hanno esordito con Leave a Whisper (2003), proseguito con Us and Them (2005) e raggiunto l’affermazione di massa con The Sound of Madness (2008), trainato da singoli come Second Chance. Noti per l’equilibrio tra riff hard rock e ballad radiofoniche, pubblicano anche un apprezzato live, Somewhere in the Stratosphere, e continuano l’attività con album su Atlantic Records.
