Duo britannico formato a Bath nel 1981 da Roland Orzabal e Curt Smith, protagonisti della new wave/synth‑pop con The Hurting (1983), il successo planetario di Songs from the Big Chair (1985) e The Seeds of Love (1989). Dopo una separazione negli anni ’90, Orzabal ha proseguito a nome TFF, poi reunion nel 2004 e ritorno discografico nel 2022 con The Tipping Point.
