Lo Splendore del Sole. O più probabilmente un miraggio, richiamo di tempi e di terre lontane.
Questo disco è un affascinante viaggio mistico, desertiche ambientazioni e visioni sonore che accompagnano i nostri sentimenti alla deriva e ci riportano ai primi anni settanta.
Lo spirito folk e la ruvidità del blues in un poema elettroacustico speziato di aromi orientali e di una giusta dose di psichedelia. E' inutile negare che i The Tea Party fanno preciso riferimento all'opera del Dirigibile, ed in particolare alla fase pastorale della band, per il suono volutamente retrò, ma anche e soprattutto per gli arrangiamenti ricercati e a tinte esotiche.
E poi senti il vocione di Jeff Martin ed è come se i Led Zeppelin avessero appena ingaggiato il loro sciamano, un redivivo Jim Morrison, per portare la propria musica in una dimensione parallela.
Il leader dei The Tea Party però vuole stupirci fino in fondo e sciorina delle capacità chitarristiche ai livelli del miglior Page, sperimentando accordature alternative in disinvoltura e con qualsiasi combinazione di corde.
E' musica che nasce priva di imbrigliature e dove ogni nota respira liberamente, pronta ad oltrepassare le nostre frontiere interiori. E' il fiume ad introdurci al viaggio e non c'è nessun Caronte ad aspettarci. Un'ipnotica danza tribale ci accompagna in un luogo dove la notte inghiotte il giorno. Ed è solo una certa inclinazione di luce ad indicarci la strada, mentre facciamo difficoltà a scindere la realtà dal sogno.
Ci ritroviamo seduti ai bordi della notte, avvolti da una coltre di distorsioni isteriche che si alternano ai riti purificatori della 12 corde. Stranieri a cui non è straniero il cielo. Per noi scintilleranno le stelle, tra le note malinconiche di una canzone maestosa.
